Shop Locally:

Most Wednesdays you can catch me at the Farmer's Market here in town. I love the idea of doing what's best for the environment as well as obtaining the freshest produce available.  Here are a couple snap shots from the excursion:

The freshest of berries!

Colorful root veggies:

Enchanting fresh flowers:

People watching at the farmer's market is always fun:

I love the hunt for the perfect bunch of flowers:

There was even live music today:

Tips for surviving the farmer's market:
1: Wear comfortable shoes (this is not the time for fashion).
2: Carry cash, that's the only form of payment most vendors accept.
3: Ask to try all produce, no sense in paying top dollar if you don't know if it will be worth it (Make the effort to sample things you've never had before!).
4: Buy all fresh flowers here! Locally grown flowers tend to last a lot longer in your home because they are picked fresh and not shipped (they tend to cost less too!).
5: BYOB: Bring your own bag, Shopping locally doesn't have the same amenities as a grocery store.

Yours,
Nico
