Cocktail: Candied Apple

Several years ago an old friend introduced me to a cocktail called a Washington Apple. The blend of juices and flavored alcohols in this drink combine to create a sweet and delicious adult beverage that tastes like the sugary candied apples (that I love!) found at most carnivals and state fairs. The recipe for a Washington apple only requires four ingredients and is simple enough to prepare on your own without much effort but presents that wow factor that every host is looking for:

Magic Ingredients:
-1 lime
-1 shot of crown royal (add more or less depending on your taste)
-1 cup of cranberry juice cocktail (I prefer unfiltered, it give a better flavor)
-1/4 of a cup sour apple pucker
(makes one large cocktail)

Let's get started:
1: In a cocktail shaker filled half way with ice, shake together the juice of half a lime, cranberry juice, sour apple pucker, and crown royal.

2: Cut an extra slice of lime and cut a slit half way thru the lime as photographed below:

3: Pour liquid mixture into a serving glass over ice and garnish with the lime:

Serve any time, but I like to make this drink around the halloween season when candied apples and other sweet treats are most popular!

Yours,
Nico
